BrokerBase: Database Server

The system requirements for running the MS-SQLServer BrokerBase 10.0 are listed below. The recommendations are intended as a rough guide, as they depend significantly on daily operations and on specific tasks of the system. The BrokerBase DMS is usually installed on an additional database, in order for the user not to be bothered.

Database server

  • MS-SQL Server 2005,
  • MS-SQL Server 2008 or MS-SQL Server 2008 R2
  • MS-SQL Server 2012

* MS-SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (this database is supplied and, if desired, it can be installed with the BrokerBase application itself).

Attention!
The supplied, free MS-SQL Server 2008 R2 Express is limited regarding the allocated memory (1 GB) and supported processor (1 processor) and can be used only a very small installation or for a test system. In addition, only databases up to 10GB are supported. Normally a productive BrokerBase system is placed on an unrestricted MS-SQL Server.

Processors

  • Dual-core processor up to 5 users
  • Quad-core processor from 5 users
  • 2 * Quad Core Processor from 10 users
  • 4 * Quad Core Processor from 20 users

RAM memory

  • 8 GB for 1 - 5 users
  • 16 GB for 6 - 10 Users
  • 32 GB for 11 - 20 users
  • 64 GB for 21 - 30 users
  • 128 GB for more than 31 users

Hard drive in SQL Server

  • depending on the database system that is used
  • 0.3 GB initial database after delivery
  • Increase MB 500 per 100,000 transactions
  • Hard drive cluster strongly recommended
  • min. RAID Level 2, better Embedded RAID level 5
